Award winning 'Bergman Method Advanced Facial Reflexology' - what is it and how will it benefit me?

This method of Facial Reflexology was developed by award winning reflexologist Ziggie Bergman. She is the UK's leading expert in Facial Reflexology, a renowned teacher and healer. Her advice and work has been featured in magazines and newspapers such as Tatler and The Telegraph and she has an A list following. Needless to say I am absolutely thrilled to have been trained by her personally.

Facial Reflexology is an non-invasive, natural Complementary Therapy, based on the same principles as Foot Reflexology. It provides the same therapeutic benefits as regular Reflexology but with some wonderful added benefits. Although not classed as a facial or beauty treatment, Facial Reflexology is a wonderful natural way to achieve a beautiful radiant glow and healthier younger looking skin.

Like the feet, our face has reflex points that mirror and match every part of our body and all the systems within it. By applying pressure to these very specific reflex points the body rebalances - allowing your entire body to function at its optimal level. It improves circulation and nerve conduction, encouraging the release of toxins from the body via the lymphatic system. All the benefits of foot reflexology - plus it may also help:

  • Headaches & Migraines
  • Sleep problems
  • Stress
  • Bells Palsy
  • Tourettes
  • Sinus problems
  • TMJ problems (Temporomandibular disorder)
  • Bruxism (teeth grinding)
  • Allergies

What happens during a Facial Reflexology treatment?

If its your first visit to me, I will telephone you ahead of your appointment - to complete the Heath Consultation (just like I do prior to a Foot Reflexology treatment). This allows me to check for any contraindications and tailor the treatment.

When you arrive, you will be made comfortable on the therapy table, with the option of comfy blankets and pillows. I then cleanse the face and apply some of the award winning 'Zone Face Lift Facial Oil' to the face. It's a rich blend of organic rose, frankincense and pomegranate oils which can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes. The facial oil used enhances the experience of the treatment and nourishes the skin. It smells heavenly!

Once the oil is applied I will use gentle pressure on the different reflex points of the face. I'll use a range of massage techniques and sometimes I may use facial tools. Most clients find the treatment deeply relaxing and achieve a meditative -like state or doze off. Facial reflexology is a nurturing and deeply relaxing treatment. My clients leave the treatment room with a feeling of inner calm, an improved sense of well-being as well as a glowing complexion.

“Facial Reflexology is not a facial….. it’s so much more”

** Please note that if you have received Botox or Facial fillers a treatment cannot go ahead following three weeks from receiving it. If you have received a face lift, a treatment cannot go ahead for three months after the operation and six months if there have been any complications.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage as the name suggests, has its origins in India and dates back to 600BC.  It is part of the practice of Ayurveda, which aims to promote long life and balance the body's energies.  There are many different variations of Indian Head Massage; the treatment I offer is applied with the client lying down on the couch, where I will work over the face, head, neck, shoulders and arms.   Clients are advised to wear a strappy top or remove your outer layers so that shoulders and arms are more easily accessed.

A variety of massage techniques will be used to release tension from knotted muscles and stimulate specific energy points.  It can relieve many symptoms from headaches, eye strain and insomnia to tinnitus, scalp conditions and more.  I'll use some wonderfully nourishing facial oil which will inevitably travel into your hair - but I will not add oils specifically to your hair.  Massage is through the scalp so please be aware you will have messy hair at the end - but it's well worth it!  Why not pop a hairbrush in your bag so that you can re-style it afterwards?

Before your treatment please remove hair bands, clips etc plus all earrings and necklaces.

Benefits of Indian Head Massage

  • Improved muscle tension in the face, neck, shoulder, arms
  • Helps prevent migraines, headaches and eyestrain
  • May help improve hair loss, thinning and alopecia
  • Relieves Sinus congestion
  • Detoxifies the body by stimulating lymphatic drainage
  • Relieves sleeplessness, restlessness and insomnia
  • Promotes deep relaxation, can support clients to feel calm
  • Helps mental and physical strain, improving concentration
  • Renews energy levels
  • Can relieve physical and emotional stress, encoraging a feeling of wellbeing

I've created some wonderful 'combination' treatments that incorporate Indian Head Massage .... check out the Treatment List!

COMING SOON (May 2024):

Auricular Reflexology (Ear Reflexology) and Ear Seed Placement

Have you ever heard of Auricular Reflexology and Ear Seed Placement? Dont worry, I hadn't either  ... until last year when I met another reflexologist who opened my eyes (and ears) to this fascinating form of Reflexology - which, by the way feels so relaxing to receive and gave me the boost of energy I'd be lacking.

Auricular Reflexology focusses soley on the ears reflexes (on the external part of the ears).  Using a form of Acupuncture to target auricular points, this technique can be used to eleviate a variety of health concerns.  In addition, and as seen on Dragon's Den recently,  'Acupressure Ear Seeds' (tiny crystals or Silver or Gold pellets) are placed on specific points of the ear (NOT into the ear) - which correspond to different parts of the body or specific conditions.  The seeds are held in place with invisible adhesive tape and left on the ear for several days.  The pressure from the seeds on these points stimulate nerve endings, promote healing and well-being throughout the body.

Ear Reflexology and Ear Seed Placement can be effective in helping:

  • Cravings / Addictions
  • Digestive Disturbances
  • Neck and Shoulder Pain
  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Headaches

Fascinating, isnt it!...more details on this new treatment will available soon.
